Sowing the seeds of a great beauty brand concept is just the beginning. Someone who knows what it takes to lead them to a plentiful and self-renewing harvest is Tev Finger, CEO and founder of Luxury Brand Partners (LBP), the metaphorical greenhouse for some of the biggest artistry-led brands in the business.A “part brand incubator, part venture fund, part brand operator” headquartered in Miami, Luxury Brand Partners was founded in 2012. Today it has over 200 employees, with over 23 countries of sale for the brands underneath its helm, including Patrick Starrr’s beauty brand, One/Size; Brazilian YouTuber Camila Coehlo’s clean personal care brand; and inclusivity focused luxury haircare brand, IN COMMON Beauty, founded by Nine Zero One salon co-founders Nikki Lee and Riawna Capri. Finger’s own path in the industry began interning at a family friend’s hair salon in New York. That family friend happened to be Michael Gordon, founder of Bumble and bumble. While there, an agile learner, Finger helped build and later sell the brand to Estée Lauder in 2006 (preceded by a majority stake in 2000). With a proverbial PhD in brand creation now under his belt, the entrepreneur began building his next blockbuster. With his former Bumble and bumble partner, Daniel Kaner, he raised $6 million for the launch of Oribe together with Oribe Canales in 2008. Known for his dramatic and sensual approach to hair, Oribe’s luxurious line was equally as uncompromising: emblem-decorated bottles, high-end price tags, and formulas that delivered results (complete with intoxicating scents so well-loved they were later released as actual perfumes).
